I haven't watched a single second of the Oscars yet (YouTube and I will be playing catch up tomorrow on all the best moments), but I did see that Jordan Peele won the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay! "Get Out" was a phenomenal film, operating smoothly on multiple levels (not unlike a certain other film, coughWakandaForevercough). I imagine that script was brilliant, as was Peele's direction (coughnooscarthere?cough), and it's well deserved.
I actually imagined myself winning a writing Oscar (Best Adapted Screenplay) and becoming the first black person to do so. But, if I had to be scooped by someone, I'm definitely glad it's Jordan Peele, and especially glad it's for this film. Kudos.
